Stamping With Juanita

3x3 Card

I have seen a lot of really cute 3x3 note cards that others have done, so I decided to give it a try. Admittedly, these can only be hand delivered, but they are cute and easy to do.

For my card, I used some paper and a sticker from the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' Kit. I also used some Die-Cut Blooms from the Occasions Mini Collection 2008.

Try a 3x3 card and see how easy it is to make. Just cut a piece of cardstock into 6x3 and fold it in half. Then all any accessories or accents that you like.

Embossing & Chipboard

I  really love to do embossing and then to add on to that, embossing chipboard. It really helps to bring out the chipboard. And chipboard helps to give the page more dimension. I really put a lot of silver into this page what with the embossing, the title, the new silver Hodgepodge Hardware from the Occasions Mini catalog and silver eyelets. We did this page at our last workshop. The ladies really had fun with this one.

Fun With Rub-Ons

I know the stamp set and the rub-ons are not current, but I just had to share this. I really love the way it came out.

I decided to try the white rub-ons on black paper and so love the way it looked that I decided that the rest of the page needed to be black and white also. To get the black ribbon and black flower, put them onto the black craft ink pad and patted it with a cotton ball to get the color into them. Then I had to let them dry before attaching them. Unfortunately, glue dots and snail adhesive didn't work to attach them to the page or other elements. So I used Crystal Effects and it worked great. On the stamped image, I stamped using the black craft ink and then embossed with Clear EP. I also used black rub-ons on the Confetti White CS. Like I said, I really like the way this came out.

Give rub-ons a try. They are so easy to use.

My 1st Card Contest

In last month's newsletter, I announced that we would be having a card contest. I provide a card sketch from SCS and then my readers are to use that sketch to make a card and send a scan or photo of it to me for the contest.

There is only one entry for this first contest and it is my youngest daughter, Kristina, who is the winner for last month's contest. On her entry, she used DSP and rub-ons. She did a great job on her card.

Scrapbooking in Clarksville TN (Cont.)

Well, here are the rest of the pages we did for our April Scrapbook Class.

We did a little bit of dry embossing, a little stamping and used a couple of rub-ons on the flowers at the bottom of the page. I also used the Going Gray marker to do the journaling lines on the orange page. For the tag on the first page, we used the circle punches to round off the ends of the tag.

When I do my journaling I can't write straight, so I draw my journaling lines using the grid ruler and on the green page I used the VersaMarker. I also used the punch tool and punch grid to make my stitching holes and then did the stitching with the silver Zig Painty.

The pages we did at the class were mostly just putting things together and then using some of the stickers from the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit.

Almost all of the pictures for the pages came from our trip to Rock City near Chattanooga, TN. But this last page says Lazy Summer Days and when we went to Rock City, it was March, not summer. So I had to use some pictures from the pool the summer before last.
