October Scrapbook Class in Clarksville TN - 2nd Double-Page Spread

 

These pages were definitely the easiest of the bunch from our October class. I took one sheet of the paper from the Ghostly Greetings DSP, cut it in half diagonally both directions and layered opposing pieces onto Whisper White card-stock. The photo frames are 4x4 pieces of Basic Gray card-stock. Then the rest of the layout is done with the Chills & Thrills rub-ons.

October Scrapbook Class in Clarksville TN - 1st Double-Page Spread

When I first saw this little spider, I fell in love with him. But the way I saw him was attached to a peppermint patty and I wanted to use him in a way that would last. So I came up with this scrapbook layout. This paper was perfect with the spider web on it. As you can tell, our theme for this month's layouts is Halloween. These pages use the Ghostly Greetings DSP and the Chills & Thrills Rub-ons. There were several ooohs and aaaahs as the ladies did their pages.

To make the spider, punch out one Basic Black Scallop Circle. For the eyes, punch first with the 1/4" Circle punch and then line that hole up in the 1/2" punch where the hole is close to the side, not centered and punch that out. This is a much easier way to do the eyes than to have to glue a little black dot on top of the white dot, especially when the eye is the same color as the background. The nose is a Ruby Red 1/4" circle. For the legs, punch out four of the large Photo Corners from the Basic Black. Then punch out four of the smaller Photo Corners from Pumpkin Pie and layer them onto the Basic Black ones. Then assemble them on the paper as desired.

For the top and bottom of the page, I cut the one page of DSP with the spider web in half so that there was a spider web on each piece. To get the torn edges even with each other, we had to measure with the grid paper at 3-3/4", where we were going to tear. That worked out really well. I've never done the torn edge for a double-page spread like this before. Then the piece that was torn off was turned over and put at the bottom of the page. The photo frames are 3-1/2"x5" pieces of Whisper White card-stock.

And for the final touch, we put a couple of rub-ons on the top pieces of DSP. Everyone really loved that little spider. though.

October Christmas Card Class

Well, I'm finally posting the photos from my Card Class earlier this month. It's been taking me a while to get my computer up and running after the crash. The card on the bottom right is hard to see from this photo, but I have a better one that you will see in a minute.

For this bag that cards went into, we used Holiday Treasures DSP. The Tag is Whisper White and Ruby Red punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. For the snowflakes, I embossed some Whisper White with the VersaMark and Iridescent Ice EP, then punched out with the Snowflake punch. The greeting is from Many Merry Messages. The handles are made of Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.

This is the first card that we made. This card was inspired by Gretchen Barron. It is done with the Snow Swirled stamp set and embossed with Gold EP. We stamped on Chocolate Chip CS and layered onto Holiday Treasures DSP, Ruby Red CS and Old Olive CS. We also put some Old Olive 3/4" Grosgrain ribbon around the middle. The tag in the center is punch with the Ticket Corner punch.

This card made my customers think of some of the old classic cards. This card was inspired by Vanessa Carlson. This was fun and easy to do, too. We used a piece of CS with an oval cut in the center. By placing that over the card front and sponging and then stamping the trees from Lovely as a Tree. We then stamped the single large tree from the same stamp set on the right side and put some Two-Way Glue Pen along some of the main branches of the tree and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The greeting is from Snow Swirled. The ink for the stamping was Night of Navy. The corners of the Whisper White and Night of Navy were punched with the Ticket Corner Punch. These were both layered onto Baha Blue to finish the card.

This was the final card and I think my favorite of them. This card was inspired by Vivian Swain. We stamped the two different sizes of snowflakes from Snow Swirled with the VersaMark ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice EP. It give the card a very elegant look but very simple to do. The greeting is from Snow Swirled stamped on Whisper White and punch with the Wide Oval punch. It is attached with a Mini Glue Dot by the knot of the White Taffeta ribbon that is tied around the top of the card.

Bella Rose Card

Well, I'm finally creating again now that I have my computer back up and running and have my photo editing software reinstalled. So I needed to make a card for someone that just had surgery and this is what I came up with. The card is Confetti White and the DSP is Bella Rose. Under the scalloped edge, which was done with the Scallop Edge punch, is a piece of the red print from the Bella Rose. The wide oval is Ruby Red card-stock and the greeting is stamped on Whisper White with Stazon Black ink and punched out with the large oval. The stamp is from the Hostess set Best Yet. Then I finished it off with some Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon.

September Scrapbook Class - Last Page - Finally

 

Well, I'm finally getting the last page from the September class posted. Between my computer crashing and going out of town for several days, I wasn't able to post anything. I had planned on taking my laptop with me and doing some posting, but it crashed the day before we were to leave. So I had no computer, no photos, no program to work with the photos, so consequently, no posts.

For this page, the background is Close to Cocoa card-stock with the pink plaid from the Banbury DSP. The green DSP is from the Love Stories Simply Scrappin Kit, along with the stickers that we used. The background for the photos is Whisper White stamped with Baroque Motifs in Certainly Celery ink. The photo frames are Certainly Celery card-stock. The title was cut out using the Go Go Boots Sizzlets and it's cut out of Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. There are silver eyelts on the right corner of the Whisper White with Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon run through the eyelets and tied.

September Scrapbook Class - Another Page

The is the other one of my favorite pages from the September Class. The striped DSP in the center of the page is the piece that was cut out of the background for the page that I posted on September 30. It's layered over Textured Pirouette Pink card-stock and the Close to Cocoa striped DSP. The swirls were cut out with the Swirly Die with Whisper White. It really adds to the beauty of the page. The border sticker, the Happiness sticker and the Journaling sticker are from Love Stories Simply Scrappin' Kit. The DSP are from the Banbury DSP. The photo frames and title are Chocolate Chip card-stock. The title is cut out with the Go Go Boots Sizzlets.

September Scrapbook Class - Another Page

This was a fun page to do. These pictures just seemed to really fit with the title. The background is Bashful Blue textured card-stock. The blue print is from Love Stories Simply Scrappin' Kit, along with all of the stickers on the page. The label is Vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware with Certainly Celery card-stock punch out with the Designer Label punch then one of the stickers from the kit across that. The photo frames are paper from the Banbury DSP cut out with the Top Note Bigz die. The left over paper from when I cut out these frames was used for the frames on the page that I posted on Oct 2.

September Scrapbook Class - Clarksville TN - Double Page Spread

  

These are some of my favorites from this class. I've been waiting for the right page to showcase some of these photos and these were perfect for them.

I really love the Swirly die cut for the Big Shot. After cutting one out, I decided that I wanted to you the outside part from the cut, too. Hence the piece on the left side of the page. Then I wanted to add something to the ones along the center of the page to dress them up a little. So some flowers were punched out of Pretty in Pink and some DSP from Love Stories Simply Scrappin' Kit with the Boho Blossoms Punch. The center of the flowers is Barely Banana punched out with the 1/2" and the 3/4" Circle punches. The swirls were cut out of Old Olive card-stock. The striped paper along the sides is from the Banbury DSP. The background is Bashful Blue and the photo frames are Certainly Celery. The two center stickers are also from the Love Stories Simply Scrappin' Kit.

September Scrapbook Class - Clarksville TN - Another Page

Well, I didn't get this posted as early as I meant to. Between canning tomatoes and reading a really good book, things didn't go quite as planned. But I'm finally getting it posted. So here's another page from the class we did a couple of weeks ago.

This page was one of the simplest to do. The background is Chocolate Chip card-stock with the plaid from the Banbury DSP. The photo frames are Whisper White sponged with Close to Cocoa. The strips and stickers are all from Love Stories Simply Scrappin' Kit.

I'm having to be creative to find enough pictures with my dear husband and I both in them for the pages we did for this class. As you can see from this page, I even had to use a picture that shows me from the back and one with two of our boys in it, also. But that just makes it more fun.
