I saw a card similar to this from another Stampin' Up! demo the other day on Sudsol and I just had to make it. I used different colors and DSP than she did. I just loved the looks of it. It's very elegant and also fairly simple to make.

Heart to Heart Ideas

Who says February and Valentine’s Day are the only times to share love?  Show your love ALL YEAR LONG for family and friends with this fabulous deal of the week. Paper punches are perfect for much more than paper crafting!

• How about using the hearts as bullet points in your journaling or list making for layouts? 

• Create confetti or just sprinkle a trail down the hall to your child's bedroom.

July Workshop Projects

We did a workshop on Tuesday. Here's the projects that we did for it.

This is the card we made. The background is Pixie Pink CS. The Designer Series Paper is from Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit. We punched out a piece of the DSP with the Word Window punch and stamped the greeting, which is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, right onto the background. The flower stamped on Whisper White is from the Asian Artistry stamp set. It was stamped with Basic Black ink and colored with the Stampin' Up! Pastels.

For the 3-D project, I did something different this time. We used the Stampin' Up! Matchbox Die. The base of the matchbox is Whisper White CS. The piece wrapped around it was cut out of a piece of DSP from the Tea Party pack. The window on the box was punched out with the Wide Oval Punch and covered with a piece of cellophane. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped on Whisper White CS and punched out the the Small Oval Punch. Then it was finished with a heart punched with the Heart to Heart Punch.

And of course, the final project is the progressive scrapbook page. This is the 6x6 page that everyone did at the workshop. The background is Not Quite Navy CS run through the Big Shot with one of the plates from Texture Plates Kit #4. The side border is DSP from Tailor Made Simply Scrappin' Kit topped with Gold Brads. The photo frame is Sahara Sand CS punched with the Ticket Corner Punch.

This is the 8-1/2x11 page. The background is Bashful Blue CS. The top border is DSP from the Tailor Made SS Kit. The journal block is Garden Green and Whisper White CS. On the side of the background, I stamped some leaves from Lovely as a Tree stamp set with VersaMark ink.

And this is the 12x12 page. The background for this part is Sahara Sand CS. The photo frames on the side are DSP from Tailor Made SS Kit and punched with Ticket Corner Punch. The leaves at the bottom are cut with the Leaves #2 Die from Chocolate Chip and Garden  Green CS. I also cut them out of Vellum CS, dry embossed the veins and layered it onto the colored CS to give them some detail. There are also some small leaves from Lovely as a Tree stamped in between the CS leaves and the photo frames. I figured it was about time to do a more masculine page for a change.

June's Scrapbook Class - The rest of the pages

I realize that I didn't get these posted as quick as I had said I would. The last couple of days have been crazy. But here they are; the rest of the pages from last month's Scrapbook Class. I have to admit, these are some of my favorite pages. It's really cute. Whenever we have a class, someone will comment on how one of the pages is their favorite. When I ask about the one that was their favorite from the last class, they will invariably reply that now this one is their favorite. I think I must be the same way.

 

This class was done differently than classes that I've done in the past in that all the pages were double-page spreads and that I tried to use as few different supplies as possible. Let me give you an example of what I mean. Usually, there will be several different punches, dies and other tools used to complete the pages. For this class, for edges on strips, we only used Eyelet Border Punch and the Tearing Strip.

 

I also didn't use as many dies as I usually do, either. For this class, most of the punching was already done for them, so there wasn't a big hold-up waiting for the punches.

 

I am finding that the basic layouts of a lot of my pages are pretty much the same. It's the embellishments that make them different from the others.

On these last pages, it doesn't show up in the photo real well, but the photo frames were run through the Crimper first and then run through the Big Shot with one of the Texturz Plates. If you click on the photo, you might be able to see a little bit of the crimped lines between the flowers. It was something that I tried just as an experiment and really loved the way it came out. My class atendees did, too.

June's Scrapbook Class - The first of the pages

 

Here's the first double-page spread from our June Scrapbook Class. I love the Tea Party DSP so much, that we used it for this class, too. For these pages, I tried to keep it a little simpler. We also used the Soft Subtles Textured CS. These two pages used the Certainly Celery and for the photo frames, I used Very Vanilla CS. On the side borders, we used the Tearing Strip to tear the edges and then we layered the torn pieces onto the outer edge. The corners were done with the Photo Corner Punch. I also punched them out of the cardboard that comes in the back of the DSP pack so give some more dimension to the photo corners.

 

This is the second double-page spread that we did. This page uses the Barely Banana Textured CS for the background. The photo frames are Pretty in Pink and Naturals Ivory. The ribbon at the bottom is 1/4" Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, with a ribbon slide from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware set. On the ends of the ribbon, we tacked it down with some silver brads from the Vintage Brads set. The decorations on the page were cut out of Apricot Appeal CS with the Scribbles, Swirls Sizzlit Die. And finally, the tags were Whisper White Punched with the Wide Oval Punch layered onto Certainly Celery cut with one of the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Dies.
