My Digital Studio Calendar - 5

Well, here's my next installment for my calendar from My Digital Studio. When I first made this page, my son told my that the bottom page still needed something. He suggested putting some color along the sides. I really like it when I tried it. I really wanted to use the Garden Whimsy stamp set because of the butterfly. This photo had enough space around the focal point that I could add the Photo Corner Punches to it, too.

Since my calendar is focusing on photos from places we've been or things we've seen, I had to add this photo. We got to live in Germany for several years and I love the way some of their buildings were painted. The Remember is from Night and Day. The flowers and butterfly are from Simple Friendship. My daughter really loved the way I made it look like the flowers and butterfly had been punched out and then colored cs added behind it.

My Digital Studio Calendar - 4

 

Here's my pages for June. I do a lot of paper pages with a diagonal cut or tear. So I wanted to try it with My Digital Studio. I think it worked pretty well. I did have to make sure that one of the papers was a solid color so that when I rotated it, it didn't change the direction of the pattern. I used Best Wishes and More stamps to decorate these pages.

I love Baroque Motif and wanted to use it for this page. I also used Grosgrain Ribbon for the borders of the pages and Brads for the flower centers. This was a very easy set of pages to make. When I do my pages, I always ask my kids for their opinion about how it looks and if it still needs something. This is one of the pages that I changed because of their suggestions. I originally had these pages as all black and white. My son felt that it needed some color and even suggested the colors for it. When I made the changes, I liked it much better than the original way I had done it.

My Digital Studio Calendar - 3

When I first did the pages for this month, I just had the background around the photo and the stamps flower and circle stamps around the page from Enjoy Every Moment along with some Brads and Eyelets. It still needed something else. When I showed it to my daughter, she agreed. But we couldn't figure out what it needed. I started looking through the stamps that were available in the My Digital Studio and decided to try some of the Torn Edges stamps. When I added those to the edges of the pages, then they didn't look so plain. Both my daughter and I really liked the way it looked then.

 

For these pages, I used almost exclusively paper and elements from the Hoppy Memories Designer Kit My Digital Studio. I did use some punches and some Brads to make the tag. And I used a chunky font that was installed on my computer for the tag lettering. After I typed out the lettering, then I made each letter a different color. This set of pages was fun to make. I had been looking for an excuse to use this Designer Kit in something and this page seemed perfect for it.

My Digital Studio Calendar - 2

 

So here is my layout for February. One of the things that I really love about doing my calendar in My Digital Studio is that I can take the time and effort to do one really nice calendar and then print out several copies of it for my kids. So much easier than trying to scrapbook several calendars on cardstock like I did a few years ago. In fact, I even went into the program this morning and added the ric-rac to the side of the bottom page and the striped paper to the bottom of it. I had been thinking before that it needed something, but didn't know what until I looked at it this morning. Of course, looking at my later pages helped me to figure out what I wanted to do with it.

 

We recently got to go see Niagra Falls and my daughter told me that I needed to include one of the pictures of it in my calendar. So here's my page for Niagra. I shrunk the Grosgrain Ribbon Knot down really small to make it look like hemp or something like it tied in the buttonholes.

My Digital Studio Calendar

I have finally finished my calendar for next year in My Digital Studio. This is the cover for my calendar. The photo is one of my daughter's favorites. She was glad to see me use this photo for the cover.  I really love how versatile this program is. I started out with the template for the calendar which just had the month layouts and the photo layouts. But you can totally customize it the way you want it to be.

This is the photo page for January. I wanted this page to go along with my photo, so I put the snow in it.

I even added some snowflakes to the dates part of the calendar. As you can see, I could add holidays and important family events to my calendar.

Sudsol Sketch Challenge #2

This was another fun card to make. I decided that since it's close to Halloween, I wanted to make a Halloween card. Only I didn't have any stamps or paper to make it with. Since some of the new downloads for My Digital Studio had exactly what I wanted, I used it to make this card. The DSP is Cast a Spell and the stamp set is Pumpkin Patch. I was able to make it look like I used pastels on the pumpkin by making the shadow blur Full and the opacity at 100%. To make the eyelets look like they had really been punched into the DSP I added the circle punch and shrunk it down to the size of the eyelets and put it behind them. I've done it a couple of time using the DSP in the small holes, but a solid color really works best.

Now that I've made this card, I really want to print it out and give it to someone.

Sudsol CASE Challenge #2

Here is the card that I made for last week's Sudsol CASE Challenge. Admittedly, the Heart Punch doesn't quite fit the heart stamp from the Always stamp set. This is another card that I made using My Digital Studio. I do love this program so much. There is so much that can be done with it.

Sudsol CASE Challenge #1

Sudsol has started doing several new challenges each week. A couple of weeks ago was the first CASE Challenge from Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Success, a magazine for demos. This is my entry for that challenge.

Again, I used My Digital Studio for my challenge card. I've learned how to make stitches in my buttons and I tried a couple of other things with this card: to have the DSP show through the eyelet and to make a tie for the tag. There are so many possibilities with this program and I'm having fun playing with it.

Sudsol Sketch Challenge #1

Sudsol, a group for Stampin' Up! demonstrators, has started several different weekly challenges to help inspire our creativity. Last week was the first sketch challenge. Since I didn't have a lot of time to pull out supplies for the challenge, I decided to use My Digital Studio for my submission.

I had to play with the layers to get the look of the ribbon on only the tag, since there is not an option to cut something to the size that you want. There is a way to use the square punch to make different sizes of paper that you may want, but not for the ribbon or other embellishments. So I have to make different layers to cover up what I don't want seen. I really love what can be done with this program. I've even used it to make email invitations to send out to customers or friends. I even used MDS to make some link button for my Shopping with Juanita site, where I sell my hand-crafted items.
