Decor Elements Album

I have been wanting to decorate my scrapbook album for quite some time, but didn't have time to do it. Last week, I finally made the time to decorate my album. I used the Big Shot and the Decor Elements Vinyl to decorate it. I used the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and Beautiful Wings Stampin' Up! Embosslit for the butterflies with Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery vinyl. I also used Swirly Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die with Certainly Celery vinyl and the Daisies #2 Bigz Die with Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron vinyl for the rest of it.

For the flower centers, I punched out some circles with 1/2" Circle Punch and the 3/4" Circle Punch and then covered them with Crystal Effects to give it some dimension. I also used the Crystal Effects to attach the flower centers because I wasn't sure how the other adhesives would work on the vinyl. My daughter is the one who got me started using Crystal Effects to add dimension or even sparkle to my projects. Admittedly I don't use it as much as she does. But it is a great addition to any project. You just have to give it time to dry.

My First Rag Bag

I've been seeing several of these Rag Bags done by other demonstrators and so wanted to make one for myself. I used the Big Shot and the Scallop Square Stampin' Up! Clear Bigz Die to cut out the blocks for this bag. I cut out the squares and the batting last night. Then I put it all together this morning. I showed it to a friend and now she wants me to make one for her.

February's Stamp Club Projects

This was a fun card that we made at our last Stamp Club. My class members learned how to do the Emboss Resist technique. I had seen a card that someone on Sudsol did with this technique and using this stamp set and it was so lovely. It was the inspiration for this card. My class members also love the way it gave this card an antique look. The stamp set used is Vintage Vogue.

And since it still isn't Valentine's Day yet, I decided to make this cute little Valentine door hanger. The heart is made with the Petal Card Bigz Die. The two bottom sections of the front and back are folded up and glued to the bottom section of the box,which is just a strip of Real Red CS. I have seen some really cute projects done with this die and I'm hoping to share some of them with you here in the  future.

Now here comes my favorite part of each workshop or club meeting. The scrapbook page.

This is the 6x6 portion of the page that everyone did. We used the NEW Extra Large Two-step Bird Punch and the NEW Scallop Trim Border Punch. Everyone really loves these new punches. And the heart is from the Heart to Heart Punch.

I learned how to make these flower buds from Jackie Topa. It is done using the Extra Large Two-step Bird Punch. Aren't they so cute? I used the Scallop Trim Corner Punch on the small photo blocks. I love this border punch and corner punch. They look so elegant.

The flower in the top left of this page is also done from the wings of the Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch. It is from the same post of Jackie's. She is so inventive when it comes to using punches and I get lots of great ideas from her.

Purple and Yellow Challenge

This last week's Sudsol Design Challenge was to use purple and yellow in our creation. For the background layer, which is Summer Sun, I used the Elegant Bouquet Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions die. I used the Square Scallop die to cut the Perfect Plum layer and then used Texture Plates Kit #4. Then I used the Beautiful Wings Stampin' Up! Embosslit to cut out the butterflies. The tag is stamped with the Great Friend stamp set and cut with the Matchbox Bigz XL Die.

January Card Class Projects

I am so glad that Stampin' Up! now carries the Big Shot and for the Texture Plates and Textured Impressions Folders. They add so much to your cards. You can take a plain piece of cardstock and make it look so elegant very quickly.

For this card we used Tea Party DSP, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Whisper White CS and the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder. I did use the Certainly Celery Twill Tape that was in last year's SAB catalog because I wanted a wider ribbon on it that I had available. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the flowers that are stamped lightly on the tag are from Vintage Vogue, which is in the Occasion Mini Catalog.

I ended up CASEing all of these cards from ones that were shared on Sudsol, which is a site for demos to share ideas with each other. There are so many times that I feel like I have no MOJO. So I visit Sudsol to get ideas for my projects. Sometimes that is so much easier than coming up with my own. When I CASE a card, I tend to change colors and sometimes even stamps sets that I use.

For this card, rather than stamping the butterfly from Great Friend and then having to cut it out, I used the NEW Beautiful Wings Stampin' Up! Embosslits Die to make the butterflies. I love this new die. It is so cute and makes embossed butterflies so quickly.

This card is done using the Big Shot and some punches. The background texture is from the Backgrounds 1 Stampin' Up! Texturez Plates. The leaves were made with the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die. The flowers are from the Simple Flower Embosslits Die. Then I used the Trio Flower Punch for the flower centers. The final touch was to punch some Whisper White with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

This card was so fund to make. I used our Sketch Challenge in Sudsol for last week to design this card. The background is stamped with the NEW Vintage Vogue stamp set. The edge of the tag was punched with Pinking Hearts Border Punch. I really love the beautiful border that this punch makes.

January Stamp Club

For this Stamp Club meeting, my ladies wanted to do dry embossing, specifically with a template that coordinated with a stamp set. For this card we used Priceless. After stamping the hearts, we then embossed them along with doing some embossing on the sides of the card. The final touch was to punch the bottom of the card with the NEW Pinking Hearts Border Punch and add a piece of Real Red cardstock to it.

As you can see, the 3-D project was a matchbox. Since we made a Valentine's card, I wanted the matchbox to go with it. You could call this a hybrid project, too, since I did use My Digital Studio to print of the Real Red DSP for the box. Again, we used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch for the Whisper White strip around it and some Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon to finish it off.

For this 6x6 page, the ladies got to try out Stampin' Up!'s NEW Clear Mount Stamps. We used Vintage Vogue from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Then for the photo blocks, they got to try out the new Pinking Hearts Corner Punch. I really love the way I can line up the stamp with the edge of my paper and with where I've already stamped, too, because I can see through the block to do it.

 

To make the 6x6 into an 8-1/2x11 page, I added some Creamy Caramel as the background, stamped it with the larger flower from Vintage Vogue and add the two photo blocks, which were punched with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

The final layer to this page, to make it into 12x12, is some Brocade Blue. This was also stamped with Vintage Vogue and then the photo blocks added to it. This is also another place where I added some printed DSP from My Digital Studio. I used it for the photo block backgrounds.

December's Scrap Class Pages - 3

So if you look at the first two pages I showed from this class, we made some Tulips from left over scraps from the Lattice Die. Here's where we used the Lattice that we cut out. I did the punching a little different with these pages. I started with the Pinking Hearts Corner Punch on the outside corner, then used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch to finish the outside edge of the Bella Bleu DSP. The class members love this new set of punches. For the butterfly, I used the biggest butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit layered onto the smallest butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. I really love how they layer so well.

These two pages are probably my favorite pages of the class. The flowers and leaves are made with the 5-Petal Flower Punch and scored down the center of each petal. The center of the flowers is the Trio Flower Punch and Gold Brads. The edges of the DSP are punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. And the butterflies are done the same way as they were on the previous pages.

December's Scrap Class Pages - 2

 

Well, here's the next double-page spread we made at December's Scrap Class. I think I end up using the Swirly Decorative Strip die in just about every class. I really love this die. These, as you can see, were really simple pages to put together.

These pages were also fun to put together. These pages use the NEW 2 Step Bird Punch and Pinking Hearts Border Punch. My class members also got to try out the NEW Clear Mount block and Vague Vintage Clear Mount Stamp. They fell in love with this new feature of Stampin' Up! and couldn't wait to get some themselves. I, too, love these new stamps and will definitely buy more of them.

December's Scrap Class Pages - 1

For last month's Scrap Class, my class members got to use some of the new Occasions Mini items. For this double-spread, they got to use the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and the Pinking Hearts Corner Punch.  The butterflies were done with Beautiful Wings Stamin' Up! Embosslit. I really love all the sizes of butterflies from this one embosslit, too. To bring out the details on the butterflies, we used a sanding block on them. The DSP is from Bella Bleu.

When I originally showed the page to my son, it didn't have the flowers along the bottom. He said he felt that it needed some tulips to make it look like the butterflies were flying around them. To make the tulips, we used the scrap pieces from the Lattice die and sponged one end of them, then glued them down. What a great way to use some of those scraps, too.

Christmas Cards from Card Class 2

Here's another card we made at our last Card Class. This one gave us a chance to use the Square Scallop Die. I really love the Stampin' Up! Finial Press Impressions Embossing Folder. As you can see from yesterday's entry, I used this embossing folder on two different cards.

Here's the last card from our class. The cards were stamped with White Craft Ink and then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP. Then I stamped the snowflakes with White Craft ink. The sparkle on the starts doesn't show up in the photo, but I stamped some Real Red CS with VersaMark Ink and then used a combination of Clear EP mixed with some of the red Fine Cosmo Glitter to emboss it. After embossing the CS, then I punched out the stars.
