Textured Impressions Folder & Crystal Effects

This card is made using the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stepped it up by adding some Crystal Effects in the embossed circles of the card. Isn't this embossing folder elegant.

Try this idea of stepping up your project, whether it be card, scrapbook page or other project, by adding some Crystal Effects to it to highlight a certain area. You can buy it at my Demo Site. Crystal Effects is fun to use.

Make Your Own Background

To make your own background, take a piece of Whisper White CS and stamp several images all over it in different colors. They can even overlap some, too. It is a very simple technique and can make some very beautiful backgrounds.

For this card, I used I (Heart) Hearts with Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White ink. Then I ran a piece of Perfect Plum CS through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder. I also ran the front of the card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder. It really added to the beauty of the background.

Simple Get Well Card

I wanted to make a card using the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini Catalog. I got the idea for this layout from a card that I saw in my Stampin' Success magazine, which is for Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The small piece of Early Espresso was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Color Lab Color Challenge #2

This is the inspiration for this week's Color Challenge. So here is the card that I made using these colors.

I saw a card that someone else made where they gave the stamped piece some texture. I think it really added to the card. The Melon Mambo is used for the outline on the flowers and for the greeting. On the greeting, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place it just right. The first time is stamped directly from the ink pad. The second time I stamped off on some scrap paper once before stamping on the card and for the third time I stamped off twice before stamping on the card. The background is done with Vintage Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

MOJO 148

I needed a masculine birthday card and this sketch worked great for what I wanted to do. I used the Circle Scissor Plus for the different circles. I love being able to make many different size circles to layer together, like I did here.  The stamp sets are Lovely As a Tree and Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used Marina Mist, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Whisper White cardstock for this card, along with some Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

I love being able to add texture to my cards and projects so easily with the Big Shot. It helps add so much to a card that may have otherwise been rather plain. On this card, I used the Square Lattice and Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

Playful Pieces Hostess Set

I just had to play with this NEW Level 3 Hostess set, Playful Pieces, to see what I could come up with. This is a fun stamp set to play with. There are so many pieces to it and so many things you can make with those pieces. For this card, though, I went fairly simple.

On the while background, I used the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It has such an elegant look to it. Then I used a piece of Island Oasis DSP. After stamping the little flower from Playful Pieces with Pumpkin Pie ink, I punched them out with the Boho Blossoms Punch. For the butterfly, I stamped twice, side-by-side, one of the rectangle stamps and then punched it out with the Butterfly Punch. Then I stamped the body of the butterfly, cut it out and layered it onto the butterfly. The greeting is from With All My Heart and is colored with Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise markers.

Thursday's Color Challenge #20

Well it's a time for another Color Challenge so here are the colors.

Here's my sample that I made with these colors.

On the textured layer, I inked up the Square Lattice Impressions Folder with Old Olive ink. Then I ran my Whisper White CS through the Big Shot with it. The stamp sets are Fast and Fabulous and Because I Care. The tag was cut out with the Big Shot and the Scalloped Rectangle Clearlit Die. The final touch was a piece of 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon.

I Just Joined a Design Team

Julie Edmonds just started a Color Challenge Blog for My Create, Ink, that goes hand-in-hand with My Create, Ink, Color Lab. I joined as one of the Design Team for the blog.

Our first challenge was to create a sample with these colors: Baha Breeze, Pear Pizazz, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. Fortunately, I still had some Baha Breeze CS from when it was one of the In Colors, but I didn't have the ink for it. I also just ordered the new In Color CS but don't have the inks. So I had to be kind of creative to make my card.

I used Because I Care Hostess set to do the stamping on this card with Chocolate Chip ink. Then using a piece of torn paper to cover the bottom edge, I sponged the rest of the card. The flower is made using the Scallop Circle Punch and Boho Blossoms Punch. I ran the Scallop Circle through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and the Boho Blossoms piece through with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit. I punched the leaves out with the Small Oval Punch and ran them through the Crimper. Then I added some leaves from the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch. The final touch was to add some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the flower and leaves.

Just had to try Smooch Spritz and Shimmer Paint

When I was working on finishing up my pages from the May Scrapbook Class, which you can see in the two previous posts, I realized that there were more photos from our fun day at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens that I wanted to scrapbook. Since I still had some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP left, I made more pages to coordinate with the class pages.

It's hard to see in the photo, but on the strips of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP that go along the outside edges and the top of the pages, I ran them through the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate then sanded them a little to make the pattern stand out some more. The flowers are the Daisies #2 die, which I really, really love and the leaves are from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlits. I ran the flowers and leaves through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions folder. I covered the flowers with Frost White Shimmer Paint and sponged the edges with Melon Mambo ink. I've been looking for opportunities to use the Shimmer Paint and this worked great.

I even ran the title through the Big Shot to give it some texture. The flowers on the side and around the title were made with the retired Spring Bouquet Punch and Boho Blossoms Punch. The swirl is from the Scribbles, Swirls Sizzlit. I even sprayed the small flowers with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

As you can see from these pages, I really like the Daisies #2 die. After I put the flowers together, I sponged the edges with Elegant Eggplant ink, sprayed the petals with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and the flower centers with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz. I really love these flowers. I'm going to have to do this more ofter. My daughter, who was here visiting and scrapbooking with me when I made these, decided to buy some Smooch Spritz after seeing these flowers. I know I'm going to be looking for more chances to use them. I even sprayed the title with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.

May's Scrapbook Class Pages cont

It took longer to post these than I had meant. There's been so much going on the last few days with my daughter and granddaughters here. So here are the rest of the pages from last month's Scrapbook Class.

 

All of the pages from the class used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. These two also used Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White CS. The dies used were Daisies #2, Beautiful Butterflies, and Beautiful Wings along with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. The background was sponged with Rich Razzleberry ink.

The small flowers on these pages were made with the Two-Step Bird Punch. The large flower was made using the Scallop Circle #2 die, the Circle Scissors Plus and the Small Oval Punch. I really love the way the Crushed Curry ribbon added to the page.

The background on these pages is the Confetti White CS and the pansies are made using the Two-Step Bird Punch and the Simple Flower Embosslit. The center of the pansies was colored using the Yoyo Yellow ink, then Barely Banana and Lavender Lace markers. They were also sponged with the Lavender Lace ink. I loved they way they came out.

These flowers were made using the 5-Petal Flower Punch, the Fancy Flower Punch and the Two-Step Bird Punch for the leaves. We crumpled up the flowers and then straightened them out some and put them together with a brad. The final touch was to spray them with the Gold Smooch Spritz Spray to give them a little shine. I used the Word Window Punch to make the journalling tags for the pages.
