Someone on Sudsol asked if you could put a photo into a punch in My Digital Studio and how to do. I decided to find out if it could be done. Normally, the answer would be no. But I found out that it can be done with a work-around solution. You can also fix it so that you can add Textured Card Stock to your punches.
Open Windows Explorer. Find My Digital Studio in Program Files and expand the folder. Go to the Backgrounds folder and expand it out. You will see Card Stock and Designer Series Paper there. In the Designer Series Paper folder, make a new folder named Photos. This is where you will place any photos that you want to use in punches for your pages.
When you expand the Card Stock folder, you will see Textured Card Stock. You can copy this folder and paste the copy in the Designer Series folder, like I have below. This makes the Textured Card Stock available for your punches, also. The disadvantage to this is that this folder is 312 MB.
Now if you don't have the room on your computer to have two copies of this folder, you can delete the one in the Card Stock folder. That just means to use the Textured Card Stock, you would have to look under Designer Series Paper in the Design Center of My Digital Studio rather than under Card Stock.
I am so glad someone asked the question and got me thinking about how to use a photo in a punch so that it got me thinking how to do it. You can see from the page above how I used them on it. The Curly Label Punch makes such a great frame, too.
Now I can't wait to see what else I can do with punches and photos together. Give it a try yourself and see how much fun it is. You don't even have to worry about messing up your photos if it doesn't work out the way you thought it would, either, lol. Leave a comment if you have a question.
